What I collect, and what I do with it.

Short version: if you hand me your store URL and an email address, I use them to write you an audit and send it to you. That's the whole purpose. I don't sell anything to anyone.

Who this is

LVLUP Creative Strategy is a one-person creative strategy practice based in Adelaide, South Australia. There is no team, no data department and no third party running any of this on my behalf. If you have a question about your data, it comes to me and I answer it.

You can reach me at jimmy@golvlup.com.au.

What I collect

Only what you type into a form, plus the ordinary technical information any website receives. Nothing is bought in, and I don't build a profile on you from other sources.

WhatWhere it comes fromWhy I need it
Your name A form on this site, or a lead form on Facebook or Instagram So I can address you like a person rather than a lead
Your email address The same forms To send you the audit, and to reply if you write back
Your store URL The same forms This is the one that does the work — it's how I find your ads and your reviews
Standard technical data Your browser, automatically IP address, browser type and pages viewed, which arrive as a by-product of serving the site

I don't ask for payment details, dates of birth, government identifiers or anything about your health, and I'd rather you didn't send them. If a form on this site ever asks for something not listed above, this page gets updated first.

What I actually do with it

If you request a free gap audit, I read your brand's publicly visible advertising and its publicly visible customer reviews, write up what I find, and email it to the address you gave me. Everything I read to produce that audit is already public — your live ads, your product pages, your reviews. I don't get access to your ad account, your analytics or your store back end, and I'm not asking for it.

After that, I may follow up by email once or twice to see whether the audit was any use. If you'd rather I didn't, say so in a reply and that's the end of it. There's no mailing list, no newsletter and no automated sequence running in the background.

What I will never do: sell your details, rent them, trade them, or hand them to a data broker or an advertising network. There is no commercial arrangement of that kind and there isn't going to be one.

Who else touches it

A few services are involved in the mechanics of getting a message from you to me and back again. Each one only ever sees what it needs to do its job.

Some of these providers store data outside Australia, including in the United States. Sending me your details means accepting that, because there's no version of using ordinary email and ordinary hosting where it isn't true.

Cookies

This site doesn't set advertising or tracking cookies, and there's no analytics script or advertising pixel embedded in these pages. If that changes, this section changes with it before the change goes live.

How long I keep it

If you become a client, I keep our correspondence and the work for as long as I need it for the engagement and my own records. If you don't, I keep the enquiry for about twelve months so I've got the context if you come back, and then it goes. You can shorten that to immediately by asking.

Getting it back, or getting rid of it

Email jimmy@golvlup.com.au and ask, and you can have any of the following:

No form to fill in and no reason required. I aim to deal with it within a few working days, and I'll write back to confirm when it's done. If I've got it wrong and you're unhappy with how I've handled your information, tell me first and I'll try to fix it — and if that doesn't resolve it, you can take the matter to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

Security, honestly stated

Your details sit in a password-protected mailbox and account with two-factor authentication turned on, and I don't copy them into spreadsheets, shared drives or third-party tools that don't need them. That said, no one running a business over the internet can promise you a breach is impossible, and I'm not going to pretend otherwise. What I can tell you is that the amount I hold is deliberately small, because a form with three fields is a form with very little to lose.

Changes to this page

If how I handle your information changes, this page gets updated and the date at the top moves. Material changes to how I use information you've already given me get an email, not a quietly edited page.
